Truce Broken

Washington Post confirms that the truce has been broken.

What is the President's plan? Is he going to tell us tonight? Or is it going to be more of the same?

This is a pretty good piece of writing from an embed with the Marines in Fallujah.

Kill Imam at your own peril.

Al Jezeera reports: Occupation forces in Iraq have used F16 fighter planes to bomb the Nizal neighbourhood in Falluja, Aljazeera TV's correspondent has reported.

U.S. forces broke the truce in Al Fallujah on April 13, bombing several city quarters with F-16s, Al Jazeera TV reports. According to the report, fighting on the ground resumed along with the bombing and artillery and tank fire were heard across the city. Insurgents reportedly have destroyed two U.S. armored vehicles in the renewed violence.

Digging in around Fallujah, their three-day-old truce punctured by shelling, gunfire and well-orchestrated ambushes, U.S. Marines gave vent to their frustrations Tuesday, saying they saw no alternative to an all-out battle for the city.

At least 82 U.S. troops were killed in action in the first 12 days of April, more than 560 were wounded and two soldiers were declared missing. At least four American civilians were killed, one contractor was captured by gunmen and six others are missing and feared abducted.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Some convoys ferrying supplies for U.S. troops in Iraq have been suspended until the U.S. military can provide better security for them, the Army and its top contractor said on Tuesday.

The uncounted dead, simply because they are not official. Where are the howls of outrage from the Right now?

So I guess we've settled on second worst, as the only person worse than Negroponte being Ambassador to Iraq qould be Wolfowitz.
