Swedish police confirmed on Friday that they had received information that Al-Sahaf was involved in the grotesque dismemberment-murder of an Iraqi agent in Stockholm in 1985, writes the Svenska Dagbladet according to NTB.

Mohammed Saed Kadhum al-Sahaf, alias "Bagdad Bob", alias "Comical Ali", was Iraq's Ambassador to Sweden after 1985.

Found body in suitcases
Al-Sahaf became ambassador in Stockholm just after Majid Husain was killed. Husain had sought political asylum in Sweden, and threatened he would tell everything he knew concerning Iraq's Intelligence Service.

He disappeared in January 1985 and was again found two months later outside a graveyard in Stockholm. The body was cut up into 54 parts and packed in two suitcases.

The trail lead in Iraq's direction, but police made no progress while Saddam Hussein remained in power.

- Extremely Interesting
This is extremely interesting. The case does not have the highest priority considering that so much time has passed, but we are going to do something about it, says police chief Bo Isaksson to the Swedish newspaper, Svenska Dagbladet.

Information Minister Al-Sahaf became known around the world for his optimistic situation reports about the Iraqi defences while the American forces rolled into Bagdad.
