Syria, Special Forces and The 6th Fleet

There is a very real possibility that Special Operations Forces are operating in Damascus.

According to "AIS", who refused to be specific, "a clever analyst would surmise that an SOF team trained to operate in the urban Baghdad area would be just as useful in the urban Damascas area at the present time."

One team "possibly" operating is the same team that was in Baghdad doing counter-leadership work which I reported about here. See 10:25 EST Update.

"AIS" also said that "Baghdad and Syria are not particularly distinct if your an SOF team with general Arab-urban capability."

This would also seem to indicate why the 6th Fleet will remain in the Mediterranean for the time being, as Reuters is reporting. The article fleshes out a few differnet tasks the 6th Fleet might be engaged in. Syria is mentioned several times as well.
