UPDATES

CNN is now confirming my earlier report about the US highjacking the Iraqi State Radio.

Pentagon sources say today's strike involved more than two dozen cruise missiles fired from ships in the Red Sea and Persian Gulf as well as from F-117 fighters.

Lots of speculation by the media, FOX, CNN, MSNBC etc . . . about the strike being on Saddam. They just won't shut up.

The U.S. military appears to be broadcasting on the main frequency of Iraqi state radio, Ha'aretz reports.

United Arab Emirates daily Khaleej Times reports March 19 that a severe dust storm has hit Kuwait. I don't see this as likely. I just watched a reporter interview a solider, live, in the desert. No dust.

CNN reports it was a 'hit' on Saddam.

Cameras are back up.

CNN's cameras in Baghdad are now down.

Sources indicate the sounds of jet fighters in the skies over Baghdad.

CNN Reports that is was a "leadership" target.

Ground forces have not yet jumped off from their positions in Kuwait.

NBC cites sources as saying there are two be two separate bombing runs in the coming hours, involving F-117 nighthawk stealth fighters, a dozen or so B-52s and several "packages" of cruise missiles to take out leadership targets in iraq.

Cruise missile strike against a "target of opportunity" in Baghdad.

The President will address the country at 1015 EST. Fleischer says, "the opening stages of the disarmament of the iraqi regime has begun.”

Aaron Brown is reporting that air raid sirens are going off around the city.

CNN says it was a cruise missile strike, on Baghdad, on a "target of opportunity." Sounds like we took a shot at a big dog. Maybe Saddam?

I saw this at frontpagemag.org:

"This is going to be the biggest statement to the world that you are never going to ____ with America like that again. Take care of yourself, take care of your brother. Don't leave your honor in Iraq. Do what's right. Do what millions of American soldiers have done before you. Do the right thing....What we do in life echoes in eternity. God be with you all." --Captain Ronnie Johnson

As far as I can tell, Saddam never f**ed with America (I'm not convinced he attempted to assassinate GHWB). But he has the misfortune to be sitting on oil.
"disarmament of the regime", says Ari. Asshole.
