Student Loans
I've been awarded my financial aid for the spring semester. Its a large sum of money due to the college I attend. I'm wondering if in a chapter 13, if I need to avoid putting this into my checking account, or savings account. The amount is fairly hi, and not sure if I want keep this amount lying around the house.. kind of unsafe that way.. any advise on what I should do.. my filing is within the next two weeks and I get the aid on 1/29.

You need to speak with your attorney. How this should be handled depends, in part, on how your particular trustee deals with such issues. Am curious about how a "student loan" can be classified as private or in this case an EduCap loan when it is funded and disbursed by a for profit institution, e.g. Bank One or Wells Fargo. Does anyone have any experience with having these discharged through a C-7? Thanx
