Working Qual For An Electrical Eng

Q: I have got a PR visa and now am finding out info on settling in Australia. I have qualified as a Electrical engineer for immigration purposes but I understand that I have to get some australian qualifications to practise as an engineer. Exactly what are the exams I have to pass and where do I lok of rthis info. I am unable to get this info from IEAust site or maybe am overlooking it , can someone please advice me on this

A: -It is not usually compulsory to be a member of IEAust to get work as an engineer in Australia, but many employers expect this. The information you need is on the IEAust website. -The IEAust site is not very clear on how to become a member, there are plenty of links for upgrading or renewing your membership, or how to become a certified engineer, but for all this you'll have to become a member first... On the Membership Homepage on the right side there is one link which will lead you to the http://www.ieaust.org.au/membership/res/down- loads/IEAGMApp.pdfapplication form. However, the form doesn't tell you the fee and I can't find that information right now...
