High Limit Student Credit Card
A student credit card is one that is designed exclusively for high school and college students. While a student credit card usually has a few more restrictions as compared to a regular credit card, for all practical purposes, it operates in exactly the same way as a regular credit card. A student credit card is a great tool, but like any other tool, its usage depends on you - used well, it can help you build an excellent credit record increasing your eligibility for a high limit student credit card or later in life, other forms of credit; when used irresponsibly, it can saddle you with serious debt. In fact, some student credit cards even require a parent or guardian to co-sign. This means the student's parents agrees to be liable for credit card payments if the student is unable to repay part or all of his or her outstanding student credit card balance. Since students typically don't have a credit history or credit rating, most student credit cards come with a lower credit limit as compared to a regular credit card. The credit limit for a student credit card when it is first issued is typically between $500 and $1000. If you are a student and you are looking for a high limit student credit card, your best bet is to start off with a lower limit student credit card, establish a good credit history by being conscientious about your payments and then re-apply for a high limit student credit card. The other option is to have a parent or a guardian co-sign, in which case your eligibility for a high limit student credit card improves as long as your parent or guardian is ok with it.
