Business Cards Print Misaligned
Q: My business cards have my picture on the left (which has been centered to have a bit of white space on the top and bottom) and text info on the right. When I print the sheet with the 10 cards (5 left column--5 right column), the cards, especially the picture, look slightly rotated counter-clockwise. This makes the top 2 cards on the left column seem so-so with the white border I wanted, but the right column all end up on the perforation of the card stock. The rest of the cards all end up misaligned causing them to overlap beyond the perforations. I tried moving the pic up and down in increments, but nothing works. I tried adjusting in Copies per sheet, went to Labels Avery 8871, margins set to .75 and .5 on top and 0 gaps. I'm using the following: -Publisher 2003 SP2 -Epson Stylus Photo R200 printer -Avery Matte White Business Cards for Ink Jet (#27881)
A: -Some inkjet printers have levers that adjust stock thickness. Check the rollers, are they picking up correctly? Yours is a printer issue. Go to the manufacturer's web site and look around for support documents. -If you have Photoshop or Freehand, draw a table with the business cards dimensions and print it out. Does the document print correctly? Publisher is not shifting your business cards, something else is going on.
