Wire For Jewelry Making
Q: last weekend at costco bought the wire jewelry hobby kit for $15.50.
clegg&larom text, tools, wire etc. great. at 55 I didn't think i needed
another hobby but maybe i can do this. the source for "parts" listed in
the directions cited metalworks.com. i sent them a note regarding
purchasing more mandrels. the kit supplies one metal knitting needle
type mandrel. but, to do many of the items listed in the easy to follow
text one needs more differen't sized mandrels.
metalworks.com has not replied back to me. fine.
so, what is a good wire AND bead worker's source whom Needs the
business and offers good deals?
A:For mandrels, go to a crafts store and look at knitting needles for lots of
sizes, or go to a hobby store and look at brass tubing. For large mandrels,
get wooden dowels in assorted sizes from a home improvement store (they'll
probably be cheaper than the ones at the hobby store).
For wire, try the crafts store. If you want to work with covered wire and
you know someone from the telephone company, telephone wire cables have lots
of nice color combinations
Did you go to the website at http://www.metalworks.com/ ?
I've had good experiences with this company and use them as a source for
