White Gold Diamond Pendant.

Q: One of my New Year's resolutions is to wear more jewelry, especially earrings. But I'm wondering if I'm overdoing it. Let's say I'm wearing black pants and a button down shirt. Can I wear both a necklace and earrings with it or just one or the other? Do the earrings have to match the necklace? If I wear a pair of diamond studs (okay, fake studs) can I wear a necklace like a large clear crystal pendant on a white ribbon? What kind of necklace could I wear with pink diamond studs

A:I wear earrings and pendants all the time. My 20 year old can mix multiple bracelets and wear simple earrings as well as a gold necklace and it looks right. Experiment and look in front of the mirror. I always try to wear some kind of a necklace as well, either a small pendant, or a chain. I also wear a few "line bracelets" as well, or gold chain bracelets. I change my jewelry though, I might wear gold one day, then some silver bracelets or a more striking necklace, larger and bolder. I don't think it looks too much. I need to have some jewelry on to feel "dressed". I don't like the rings on every finger or huge bunches of bracelets

generally though. I don't like jangly or noisy type jewelry. I might occasionally wear a vintage or other pin on a lapel, but would not wear a necklace at the same time unless it was a fine chain, almost invisible. I both buy and make lots of jewelry sets, actually, where the earrings match the necklace. But I also have a lot of earrings that either look good alone or coordinate well with other things (say, good and silver and small, understated rhinestone hoops). I even have some accidental matches - a student gave me a pair of earrings that coordinate well with a ribbon choker I have. I would think diamond studs go with everything, even colored diamond studs.
