Where Do Professors Report Harassment Emails By A Student ?
Q: Where do professors report harassment emails by a student ?
is it at the student life center? does it mean that the student is bored or has no life
A: Every campus has a different policy about reporting harassment. I would find out my own campus' procedures and not follow anything specific that's offered here; we don't even know what campus you're on. If it is sexual in nature, your college probably has a specific administrator assigned to sexual harassment--you can find out who it is by looking through the student handbook (even if you're faculty) and contact that person for proper procedures. If it's another type of harassment, you might still contact the sexual harassment official and ask for guidance, if the proper procedure is not clear to you from the student handbook or employee policy manual. You also have the option of asking for advice from the US Department of Education civil rights enforcement office. They have different centers for fielding complaints in different regions of the nation; you can easily find them from the US DOE website (google it!).
