What Is The Easiest Dental School To Get Into?

Q: I'm 27 years old. I worked for the past 4 years. I have recently been attending a University and taking all upper level science courses. I have one semester and 3 quarters of all science courses (approximately 45 hours) in which I have a 3.75 GP

A: I only got one B and few A minuses. Everything else was an

A: I also got a 19 on the DAT. However, my undergrad transcipt is horrible. I do have a 3.0 GP

A: However, I repeated tons of courses that were originally F's and D's. I have been working in dentists office for the past year and I have research experience too. Can anyone tell which Dental schools I should target? i have looked at the guides but I'm sort of seeking advice from the grapevine. Maybe some of you know that some schools are more forgiving and willing to look at your current progress?

A:How about targeting the dental school you would like to attend the most??? Call up and talk to the admissions department. Show some interest and some spark. They will tell you if your GPA is too low. If you don't have a 4 yr degree, than make sure you are enrolled to get one. Even if you don't finish the bachelor degree program, dental schools want to see that you are focused enough to be working towards a degree. Don't stop taking classes. If your bachelor degree is done, work towards a masters degree. It will be a chance to bring your GPA up and show the dental school your ability to work hard and be dedicated. I have been out of dental school for 18 years now, so I don't know exactly what happens now, but when I was there, school was 8 hours a day 5 days a week with no empty periods. 40 hours a week of lecture and laboratory. One term was made up of 22 individual classes (all at the same time on the same term). The dental school will want to see that you can handle this. Actually, I already have my bachelors degree. Sorry I didn't specify that. I assumed it was clear due to my age and the fact that I worked the past 4 years. I have called up schools but they never give you a straight because they can't. If it were that easy, people simply would call schools to save them from applying. And I am in Masters program right now hence the 3 quarters of work. I have already

taken Human Anatomy, Pathophysiology, Epidemiology, Physiology 1 and 2, Emerging Diseases, Neuroscience, Biophysics and Research statistics in addition to the core. I guess, I was just seeking if anyone knew any information through the grapevine. It sounds to me like you are on the right track. Make sure that you get great grades on the courses you are taking now. The schools will look closer on your recent achievements than on your past ones. I started dental school at 26 yrs of age. I had classmates who were older. The schools might be able to tell you what was the GPA average of the last freshman class. I guess I did not articulate that part very well
