Heaven knows, the one thing that you need to look forward to after the grueling task of planning and executing a wedding is a relaxing vacation. Unfortunately, the planning of such an event falls into the same high stress package as that of the nuptials, and there are often little chinks in the armor along the way. In order to avoid the pitfalls and reduce the stress, set up a guideline for yourself and things will flow much more smoothly. Whenever possible, it’s best to begin the planning stages about six months before the trip takes place. Of course, the first thing that needs to be determined is how much you’ll be able to allot to the honeymoon – and it’s important to be realistic. That done, it’s time to chose your destination and make the necessary reservations. This may all sound easy enough, but the selection process can be quite a teeth-grinder unless you can both agree on the details. If passports are going to be necessary, now’s the time to get them. It typically takes a few months in order to receive them once the paperwork is filed, and you certainly don’t need that to be the one stumbling block to keep you from enjoying your honeymoon – so don’t delay.
