Q: different between rape and harrassment
A: Fine, as long as everyone understands that "virtual rape" is not a form of "rape". Sexual harrasment, definitely, but not a rape. Analogies should be things like harrasing phone calls rather than physical attacks. The victim can always hang up or log out and end the problem. It's not even as serious as a face-to-face verbal harrasment, because you know for sure that the person at the other end of the modem line isn't going to escalate to physical assault right then. The problem with using "rape" to describe it is that rape is a very real and physical thing which is much more serious than mere harrasment. There is simply no comparason between any level of harrasment and what any rape victims feels. It is in fact degrading and demeaning of actual rape victims to try and make that comparason.
