It is well funded and focused on developing and deploying services in the optical core of the telecommunications network. To address the needs of the optical core they are building a multi-terabit to petabit class product line and are developing a new class of services for this network. A number of optical carriers have shown interest in the product line and prototypes will be tested later this year. The company is managed by seasoned executives with expertise in building best-in-class carrier products.---------------------------------- Design and development of shelf and module level assemblies for a core optical telecommunications system. Act as a senior designer for the system packaging and mechanical design. Support designs from concept through prototype and pilot productions phases. Team player in cross-functional environment. Produce engineering documentation to support engineering processes from concept to manufacturing.----------------------- Requirements: Prior experience with the design of carrier-class telecommunications

products is required. Proficiency in 3D modeling tools (ex. Solid Works). A thorough understanding of thermal & airflow analysis required. Knowledge of EMC, NEBS highly desirable. Excellent verbal and written communications skills. 8+ years of related experience, Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or higher.
