Symptons Of Teen Depression

Q: I have a 17 year old who has never had a normal cycle. She had her first period at age 15...a few days of spotting basically. It stopped and never came back. We took her to OB/GYN at 16 who put her on BCP which finally got her period up and going and cleared up her skin. After a year I asked her to go off them to see of her body would naturally do its own thing. It did not. After three months she went back on the pill. Now I've taken her off the pill again determined to find out if she's ovulating. I've taught her how to chart and she just started doing that. Her temps on the whole are very low ranging in the 96.6 to 97.0 range. Its only been a few days so I can't tell much. I think I'm on the right track of getting her off the pills for now to see what her own body is doing and why. I don't want her to have problems dealing with IF like myself years from now (she's my stepdaughter). But if she doesn't have spikes in her temps what could that mean or if she does and yet doesn't have a period what could that mean and even further: are there natural remedies to this problem. Too many questions I know but some wisdom would be greatly appreciated!!!!

A:Anovulatory cycles are becoming more and more prevalent in today's society. This is mostly due to Oestrogen Dominance symptons. Man made chemicals found in the petrol chemical industry (which are all oestrogen based) are finding their way into our foods, air and water. Plastic comes from a petrol base - think about it 99% our food comes wrapped in plastic in some form or another. Our foods are chemically enhanced (chicken, beef, pork and lamb are all given growth stimulants (oestrogen) in order that they fatten quicker so that the farmers get faster turn around making more profit, Non organic vegetables are given stimulants so they last longer etc (You get the picture). Most women are put on the pill so they don't fall preganent and then from pill they move to HRT's (another oestrogen hormone). When we women enter puberity there hormones are basically instable as the body adjusts - terrible teens. Teens are moody, depressive, have bad skin, develop a sex drive, put on weight etc. Why? In a womens natural cycle 26 - 28 days, the ovaries receive messages from the brain to get ready for fertilizaton. Eggs begin to mature inside the follicles. After 10 days one egg is ready and bursts releasing the egg into the fallopian tube for its journey to the uterus. The follicle then becomes the corpus luteum. Oestrogen levels rise during the first half of the cycle. Oestrogen's role during the fertile female cycle is to build up the endometiral lining quickly. This becomes thick and engorged with blood that will nourish the growing embryo. Oestrogen levels peak on about the 12th day and then tapers off just before ovulation. Genetisist, Dr Formby found that Oesrogen switches on the onca gene, the BCL2 Gene, that gives the message

to the cells " to multiply quickly, not to differentiate and not to die" (This message is the same as cancer cells give.) Progesterone levels begin to rise just before ovualtion and it is regarded as the "Libido" hormone. After ovualtion the Corpus Luteum produces large amounts of Progesterone during the second half of the cycle. Progesterone leads to the ripening or maturing of the tissue in the uterus and reaches levels of 20mg per day. According to Dr Formby, Progesterone switches "OFF" the BCL2 gene and "ON" a protective gene called the P53 gene. This gene gives the message to the cells "to mature differnetiate and die" to be replaced by another healthy cell.
