Real Estate Agent

Any good real estate agent is a person who is authorized by a brokerage firm to represent that firm in a business transaction with another party. The agent can bring these parties together to form a legal relationship. The agent has to abide by the instructions of the brokerage firm but may do this work in the manner in which he or she seems fit. The agent is authorized to negotiate contracts for the brokerage firm. The relationship between the agent and the brokerage firm can be compared to a relationship between an employer and an employee or one of a master and servant. The real estate agent has usually undergone their training for two years prior to working on his or her own. This education consists of many hours of study and at the end a final exam, in which three hours is allowed for completion. The course consists of three parts and a two year span is allowed for the finale. After each part there is a separate three hour exam. For some there is a special program where a student will accompany a broker to learn the ins and outs of the trade, with the intent of employment after completion with that brokerage firm. As a general rule the agents have been delegated to carry out their duties on their own, since the broker expects them to finish the allotted tasks that are designated to them, however there are exceptions to the rules.
