Mechanical P.E. Looking For Employment Opportunity

Q: I am hoping someone can help me on my job search. I have had 8 plus years (5 yrs w/ Mechanical Engineering Consulting firms & 4 yrs w/ a Mechanical Design Build Mechanical Contractor) in the HVAC (primarily dry-side) and plumbing systems for a variety of commercial, light industrial, institutional and custom residential projects. I am licensed in California and Nevada. I am capable of having free rein on most projects (i.e. up to 30 tons cooling per unit on constant volume systems, but I have designed VAV systems less the mechanical room) from calculating design cooling loads and heat loss, pyscrometrics, selecting mechanical equipment, laying out and sizing ductwork and hydronic piping and stamping plans for city permit, all with very little supervision. I have also taken HVAC service technical courses: Fundamentals of Air Conditioning Systems (based on the Trane Air Conditioning Manual), Introduction to Refrigeration and Basic Electricity for Environmental Control Technologies. The systems I have designed include rooftop a/c units, kitchen hoods,

split systems, make-up air units with direct fired heating & evaporative cooling, VAV / fan powered VAV, four-pipe steam / chilled water & heating hot water / chilled water fan-coils. My desire is find a position that will help me make the transition from HVAC design into estimating / project mgmt in the Seattle, Washington area. I have had some estimating ductwork take-off experience using a DOS based program and completing purchase orders for mechanical equipment. If anyone knows of any opportunities or could recommend the name of someone within a company I could speak to, I would be most appreciative.
