Q: Can anyone recommend a good injury lawyer in Nashville? i had an accident at work a while back and hurt my knee, now it seem's like there may be long-term damage to it.
A: I know somebody who called a lawyer and screwed himself out of a large sum of money. By coincidence I also know someone who worked in the claims department of the insurance company that handled his claim. His lawyer called on the day that the paperwork was to be mailed to him for his signature (it was already in the envelope). The insurance company had decided to give him full disability, but the involvement of a lawyer automatically kicked his case to their legal department. When it was all over, it had taken considerably longer to get his claim settled, the settlement was for exactly the same amount the insurance company had already decided to offer him, and his lawyer took one third of his settlement.
