Ged Reading
Q: When IMPORTING a GED/gedcom file into BK5/BK5Win, what happens??
Here is my problem, A Friend sent a PAF2.1 gedcom file to me, however, it
is in 2 parts!!
First is HUOT.GED
2 is HUOT.G00, When reading into BK5 It reads for a while then shuts
down, putting me back to the main screen.
When Scanning, in BK5Win, it appears to scan then states that the file end
O TRLR is missing, and lists the last line??
This doesn't happen in any other program, ie: Kith and Kin.
In Kith and Kin reading in the gedcom file takes 20 minutes, and almost
everything is there.
I've had to read the gedcom file, at the end of HUOT.GED, Kith Kin asks me
to put Huot.G00 into drive A, and then it continues reading!!
Is My set-up, in BK wrong or is there a way to force BK to read the whole
file, ie: both parts??
A:Have you see the DOS docoument for BK; there you have the explanation
to make one GEDCOM-file out of two,
COPY SMITH.GED+SMITH.001 SMITH.GED
Also mention so int the help-file for BK5W
Have you thought about changing the name of the second Gedcom file
to HOUT
A: GED ? I suspect BK reads gedcom files and the file you asked about is not identified as a gedcom file. In
