Ged Online Education

Q: I am interesting to get G.E.D. to do a further study in undergrad in USA, I found this site: http://www.belfordhighschool.com/index.asp I'm not sure that they are diploma mill or not, so could you pls kindly tell me... Also, is there any website that I can check that the accredited school for GED? and lastly, if I ordered from this site, can I use this certificate to apply to University in USA?

A:The GED. is awarded based upon an applicant's performance on a seven-hour proctored test administered at an authorized GED testing center. This test is never given online. Any certificate you might get from an online school will certainly not be an actual GED certificate. People who are already in the US can take GED preparation courses, and usually may take the test itself, at a

local community college (a two-year "junior" college), but I don't know whether you can hope to get a student visa for the purpose of attending a community college. What kind of education do you already have? You might not need a GED for university admission if you have some other kind of recognized diploma. In any case, I strongly recommend that you write to the admissions offices of the universities you're interested in attending. There's more to university admission than just having some sort of high school completion certificate, and the requirements vary from one university to another. You might as well get all the information you need straight from the source.
