Q: While I am an engineer and not a shyster, I do understand the concepts of criminal and civil law. But, my point, which you blew right by, is that the defense doesn't HAVE to prove their client's innocences, but if they really don't do that by either overwhelming refutation of the prosecutions evidence, at least the credibility of their witnesses must be sufficiently impuned as to plant the "beyond a reasonable doubt" crap in the minds of the jurors. How do you know?

A: -You seem to be under the impression that all lawyers practice criminal law. I've used lawyers, to my advantage, many times. Never in a criminal case, though. Bob can shed more light on this, but there are many lawyers who have never appeared against a prosecutor. Probably more than have. Lawyers who practice criminal law - even the ones who get the sleaze-bags off - are far less damaging to our society than the PI and Wrongful Death remoras. Lawyers who practice criminal law don't encourage people to file nuisance suits. I've never had need for a divorce lawyer, but I did have lunch with one that I thought was very nice. Her husband is critical of my grammar and construction, but that's not her fault -It's never too late, Coop. Mrs. Bob has reminded me of this more than once ... and she should know. Many's the time she's told me WCRHR. That's just how she says it -- WCRHR.
