Divorce Papers Came Yesterday ???
Q: My husband finally got off his arse and filed for divorce after nearly 6 months of separation. I laughed my head off, reading them. He actually thinks I'll allow him to have half of everything, including joint custody of our 2 girls. No way...joint legal custody, but not physical. They need a mom, and not a dad who works more than 80 hours a week. When they would be with him half the time, they'd actually be in the care of others most of that time, so why is that a good thing? I'm a full time parent right now, so it makes sense for me to have physical custody. I have the time, and it's what I've been doing for more than 4 years. He also only listed his two credit cards as our only marital bills beyond household bills, as the mortgage and utilities. He completely ignored the thousands of dollars in medical bills we have between me and the kids over the last 6 years. He never paid any of them, and now expects me to take on the full responsibility for them, by not including them in the divorce papers! LOL.. Like my attorney, when I get one, won't have a field day with this! I doubt he even mentioned them to his lawyer...she will be very surprised to find out he has been less than honest with her about our finances. He didn't mention my credit card, or my student loan, either. Funny how he thinks only his bills count in our marriage. This is a good representation of his attitude of our marriage for the last few years...what is mine is mine, what is his is his, except for my paycheck from my part time job..that was supposed to be spent only for the family, while his was for paying the house payment and utilities, and the rest was his to spend as he wanted to. I had an $8 an hour part time job, but I was supposed to buy all the household goods, food, and pay for the kids' clothing, school items, etc. plus my medical necessities, including co payments for many prescriptions and doctor visits, totaling over $60 a month. Of course I never came close to being able to pay for all of that on my salary for a family of 6! He makes over $3,000 a month, to my $400. when I was working. I make nothing now. Typical of him to forget all of these other bills we have when drawing up the papers, given his history of financial inequality. I can't find a lawyer yet, either. I have no money, and the free volunteer lawyers are only for another county...I'll call them tomorrow when they are in to see if they know of any others in my area. Until then, I'm screwed...no lawyer. No food in the house, either, since he won't buy us groceries until he decides to...in spite of the fact that I told him days ago that we haven't had
A: Please don't let these trolls get to you. You can block them in your email/news reader, under Tools or Options or whatever. (And yes, the answer to your question is that they are here to harass you - so exercise the mentioned option, and you can have more peace.
