Custom Jewelry?
Q: A friend of mine was thinking about getting a pair
of cartilege piercings (we were talking about my
new industrial! :) but he wanted some cutom jewelry
before he got it done. He is interested in a pair of
longish (2-3 inches) spikes that would come out the top,
looking like a sort of cyberpunkish elf. I thought of
some of the labret spikes, but with the round backing
I'm not sure it would fit under the cartilege curve.
He also wanted them in hematite or black titanium.
Anyone know of anything like this?
A:I would tend to think that this (the wieght) would bend your ears out
and over. It seems to me that the pulling and stress on this new
piercing would really irratate it, if not infect it, eventually healing
out or never actually healing at all. I would definately try a smaller
CBR or BB first, until it was completely healed before wrenching on it
with some custom chrome.
Titanium is not available in black. The manufacturers with whom I've
spoken say it just doesn't work out.
