Club Officers Education And Training Workshops
Q: With the advent of the new online submissions the need to submit
paperwork via snailmail no longer exists. Can anyone please clarify if
the Training and Education workshops guide/programs for club officers
given by TI reflect any of these new procedures.
If not what are these differences in roles for the various club
officers from the pre-online version?
A:I haven't seen any of the most current club officer training materials
from TI, so I can't comment on what is in them.
However, if someone presenting the training knows of new online
procedures (or any other kind of procedures) that are not in place, in
my opinion, it is an opportunity for the presenter to personalize the
material in a way that clearly better meets the needs of the target
audience
I checked the Ed VP training material online at the TI website and it
doesn't refer to online submissions. It still mentions filling out the paper
award application form at the back of the manual and submitting it to world
HQ:
Submitting award applications online requires exactly the same information
that is on the paper form, so it is helpful for that form to be filled out
anyways. Any officer except the Sgt at Arms can submit these (especially
important when the person getting the award is the Ed VP who is not allowed
to "sign" his/her own form), and this is the same rule that has been in
place before the availability of online submission.
One minor difference between the paper and online submission is who can
actually send these in. In some clubs I know the member actually mails or
faxes the form in once it has been signed
