They regulate the acid production in the stomach at cellular level but for existing acid in the lumen they can be neutralized
by mylanta, maalox, novaluzid etc. dont self medicate, consult a gastroenterologist cause you need to treat the primary
problem, not the manifestation of that problem. you may be having dysmotility syndrome or somatic manifestation of a CNS

I really shouldn't tell you this but I ALWAYS USE half a teaspoon of baking soda and put it in a tall glass of water and
