A:It depends what antidepressant it is. Zoloft, Paxil and probably Celexa are safe. What is the dosage? I am a social worker, doula and mom to 20 month ds still happily breastfeeding. I also run a support program for women with PPD and am a survivor myself. Please consider some individual therapy or try to find a support group in your area. Meds will probably be very helpfull but counselling is also important. Feel free to email me if you have any other questions. First, bravo to you for dealing with four children on your own with little day to day husband help. Second, please use normal capitalization in your posts. It makes them much easier to read. It is generally considered shouting when you type in all capitals. Many antidepressants are safe to take while breastfeeding. If you give us the name of the medication your doctor prescribed we can tell you more about its safety.
