Acid Reflux Relief
Q: What is a good IMMEDIATE soother/remedy for GERD/acid reflux attacks? Mine are severe.?
I currently take a preventative medication twice a day to help, but when I do mess up with my eating.... I get horrible acid reflux and it excruciatingly painful. I have tried tums and Mylanta, but they don't do much for relief. I am looking for something that works during the attack and is immediate, or pretty darn quick
Can anyone help me with this acid reflux relief?
A:Spoon full of vinigar. It sounds wierd and ikky but it will balance out the acid in your tummy.
The problem with acid reducers is that they take to much acid out of the tummy and the tummy freaks making more.
At the moment I take prilosec and it helps usually but every once
in a while this does not contain the acid reflux so I take 1 pepcid
when it is like that. That usually takes care of the problem. I asked
the doctor and he said that was okay. You do not want to mix all
of the anti acid meds all of the time especially if you are on other
medications but once in a while that happens.
The only other step for me will be to go on to a stronger acid
reflex medicine when this one no longer works. One time I was
in the ER and they gave me a Cocktail of meds and I felt good
afterward, I wonder what was in it. I thought it possibly was a gall
bladder attack but was wrong, it was just bad case of acid reflux.
