Acid Reflux Medication Generic

Q: The question at hand is this: I have some problems with my teeth that will likely soon necessitate painful procedures and I am a wimp when it comes to pain. I have wisdom teeth that need to be removed, some of which have some level of decay... in any case under normal circumstances the dentist would most likely prescribe hydro or oxy. I honestly feel that this would NOT cause any problems for me, but I'm not sure how my PO will react. I don't know if I can put off my dental treatment until the end of my probation (possibly 2 more years) and would like to take care of it right away. However, I don't want to have to go through extremely painful procedures without any relief. can anyone help me please?

A:PLEASE don't apologize for long replies! I appreciate the effort a great deal. I have a vage memory of commercials for Orudis from several years ago, but I don't recall ever trying this medication Thank you so much for the advice. I actually use acid-reflux medication regularly anyway, and I have a good handle on how my system reacts. I take cimetidine for the acid reflux and also because I understand it increases the half life and plasma levels of xanax. Sometimes I take famotidine instead, which is much more effective for acid-reflux, but doesn't seem to have any effect on the xanax. I guess what I will try to do is talk to the dentist and the PO about an opiate prescription in case I need it, and try

the ketaprofen and stomach meds first, probably without telling them because although doctors (and PO's) can be great when they deal with you appropriately, they can also be assholes. So if I don't need opiates, all the better, but I like the idea of having a contingency plan. Most people I know who have had oral surgery have only used a fraction of the opiate prescriptions given to them. Since my goal is pain relief and not to get high, hopefully the ketaprofen and maybe a little vicoden or percocet if needed should be more than sufficient. I will probably try to scheule it on a thursday or friday and take one or two days off before a weekend, so I have some recovery time.
