A New York Minute
If you like the Olson twins, this film is for you. Mary-Kate and Ashley Olson, along with Eugene Levy, star in this 2004 production with the usual story line and plot twists. The girls take on New York and wriggle their way through a number of tight moments and romantic interludes to learn something about themselves and the world in which they live. Though there are few surprises, those who enjoy romantic comedies will not be disappointed. Although the Olson girls have been trailed by scandal in recent years their box office appeal has not dimmed. Boyfriend woes, anorexia, rumored drug rehab, and other gossip has foisted the girls into the tabloid headlines without truly hurting their movie image. Parents can pretty much rest assured that taking the kids to an Olson film will not hurt the impressionable young minds of their teenagers. Primarily the girls’ fan base draws adolescent girls and young teens, but that has not kept their films from earning respectable profits.
