80's Clothes Keep Coming Back

There are many people who would comment that 80’s clothes are a terrible thing. However, with the revival of 80’s clothes yet again, it seems, terrible or not, they are something that we can’t escape from. 80’s clothes recently had a short lived revival in which the shoulder pads made a come back. Unsurprisingly this was not taken very far, and the few people who did try shoulder pads in today’s climate did not continue to do so. The problem with 80’s clothes is that they were made in the 80’s. In a time when what you wore was an instant statement about who you were, and everyone in the 80’s wanted to be a successful business person with lots of power. So many 80’s clothes were made up of reinstating this image. 80’s clothes were full of bright, bold colors. Fierce shoulder pads and eccentric designs. When you look back now at the fashion of the 80’s clothes you may laugh at them but you also have to note that they were made in a revolutionary time. However, this does not

excuse their return to the fashion scene. 80’s clothes now have been revived as a toned down version. The ra-ra skirts and cropped pants have been big hits with the fashion conscious of today, but the shirt dresses and plastic jewelry could easily look stupid if it is worn in the wrong way. When wearing 80’s clothes you have to be careful. Trying to repeat the 80’s is bad news in the fashion sense, so you have to do your research and plan your wardrobe carefully. If you try to wear 80’s clothes as they were worn in the 80’s you run the risk of looking dated, rather than fashionable, and that is the worst thing that can happen to someone who is trying to appear at the cutting edge.
