14kt White Gold Ring Bends???
Q: i have a ring that i just got a few weeks ago and its made of 14kt white gold and the top part is actually bending! like if you gently touch it, the little design area that has the little things sticking out actually move. here's how the design actually looks: http://www.ice.com/customer/product_detail.jsp?product=95103745&sid=D... its the top area where the little beams holding the stones are. they can bend very easily. is it because maybe they use more bendable metal alloys for that area or something else?
A: While palladium white gold, of which this might be made, is softer and more easily bent than older nickel white golds, it is not normal or right for the whole top, or portions thereof, of a ring to be EASILY bent back and forth. Your description makes it sould like it's barely hanging on at all. I'll bet if you look carefully (use a magnifier), that you'll find either than some portion is very very thin, perhaps due to a finishing or casting flaw/error, or
